Our Company
Wagatha's dog treats… established since 2006
You might say that the creation of Wagatha's was the result of a “meeting of the minds” between a life long professional chef and an open outcry Wall Street commodities trader… truly an unlikely duo.
Neil Reilly (the Wall Street guy aka the red guy in the blue state) moved to Vermont in the late 90’s to escape the full time chaos of the trading pits in favor of a better place to decompress and enjoy his family. Neil was searching for the right opportunity, to partner with someone with similar values and build a company rich with integrity, humor, and friendship.
Norman Levitz (the chef and blue guy in the right state) moved to Vermont in the mid 90’s to raise a family and escape the tourist Mecca of Newport, Rhode Island where he was both a restaurateur and culinary educator at Johnson & Wales University. Little did he realize that Vermont too was a tourist Mecca… too much time in the kitchen I guess. Norm began making dog treats for friends and family back in the 70’s and had perfected the formulas over the past 3 decades.
It wasn’t until the famous basketball game back in the spring of ’06 between the two Titans of roundball… St. Mary’s and the Dorset School where this unique partnership began to develop. Really what happened was… Neil and Norm were watching their daughters play basketball (6th grade) and began to discuss the possibility of bringing Wagatha's and our gourmet organic dog treats to fruition.
So, here we are, poised for the adventure of our lives!
Our Dog Treats
Neil and Norm’s vast range of experiences have taught them that quality matters… in every facet of life. After experiencing many “empty” (beyond the wallet) shopping experiences and disappointing meals (ever been out to dinner with a chef?) It became clear that only the best offerings would be made and or sold by Wagatha's. Our dog treats would be certified organic, kosher, and made from ingredients you would want to eat yourself. What could attest to quality more than this? We want you to smile every time you reach for Wagatha's extraordinary biscuits because it makes your best friend happy.
Who's Wagatha…
Wagatha is a joyful adventurous pup. She is the embodiment of the youthful spirit in all of us… the eternal child that wants to play, explore, and experience life. She may just be you…
And she craves the gourmet organic dog treats that she helped create!

A word of thanks
Thank you to our families, friends, and employees who have supported our crazy ideas and efforts (we could tell you stories…) who have taken countless surveys, read thousands of pages of research text (sorry, it’s not our fault you need glasses), fielded phone calls and listened even when only pretending. Thank you to our wives for answering the eternal question asked by friends and associates…"They're baking what?"
Special thanks to our professional associates for the unending questions (Norm actually earned the nickname Columbo), design changes, explanations, etc. Rosanne, thank you for putting the wag in Wagatha. All you four legged Wagatha wannabes… thanks for tasting so many biscuits. I promise, we’ll walk off the pounds together.
Thank you to our customers for allowing us to be part of your lives…
